Rotaract Coffee Morning at Blakelaw Residence

In the lovely morning of 10th September a few Rotaractors and two guests (potential members) spent the morning having a hot coffee/tea and lovely chat with the senior residents from Park View Grange.

Park View Grange is a care and support home for the elderly run by Anchor Group.

We were welcomed by few residents in the morning as we set up the coffee/ tea, cakes and pies we brought. There were cupcakes, scones, biscuits, homemade Bulgarian pie, Brazilian chocolate cake, lemon cake and much much more.

Around 20 senior citizens turned up. Our president Samantha Mogie delivered a speech explaining more about us and our collaboration with the residential home. Coffee, tea and sweets were served by the Rotaractors.

We all sat and discussed their daily lives, life in their younger years, their worries, world issues and everything in between. We also found out areas where we can mingle with and befriend them in the future.

The feedback from the residents and the manager Donna Nicholson was absolutely fantastic! We are currently talking about scheduling a game day in October and Christmas quiz in December.
