Project Hungary

We are honoured to tell that this summer our Club is teaming up with Budapest-Budavár Rotaract Club to support a project organized by the Reformed Church of Hungary for underprivileged children.

The project is realized through a summer campground, which will be hosting a daytime camp close to the village of Nagycsere, Debrecen, between the 1st and 5th of August 2016.

A great amount of our summertime activities and endeavours will be aimed at raising funds for this project, and all our fundraising actions will be announced on this page for you to get the fullest possible update on how we are getting on.

All the funds raised will go towards providing ~50 children with meals during these five days, as well as buying the needed sports equipment.

Besides putting together a program of creative workshops and sports activities, and depending on the amount of money raised, the organizers will also look into the possibility of inviting an additional number of instructors to provide children with the opportunity to try their hands at things like archery and horse riding.

Some members of the Rotaract Club of Tyneside will be also going to the campground to assist instructors with activities and support children throughout the day.

If you would like to support our efforts in any way, please get in touch for more details on how you can get involved, but, meanwhile, stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled for the news!
