Homeless people are not necessarily just living on the streets but are also people in hostels, with friends or in other provided accommodations.
Changing lives already helps: women & children, abused, veterans, people suffering from addiction, mental health issues, accidents or traumas. The idea is trying to build a relationship and trust to provide counselling instead of pure money donations.
They provide accommodation/hostel, independent living support, food banks, street work, a place to shower/get clothes/health care.
They are campaigning to inform that most baggers on the streets of Newcastle are parts of gang’s or similar. They advise not to give money but preferably provide the chance to talk, food or drinks instead – in case they are really homeless and not just begging…
